  • May 14, 2023 - May 14, 2023

  • 2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

CIE Dept invites you to Seminar on "Intelligent Control of Bionic Hand based on Electromyography" on Sunday, 14th of May, 2023 at 2:45PM in 22-134

Speaker: Mr. Ali Al Ramadhan, Graduate Student in Control & Instrumentation Engineering Department – (KFUPM)

Abstract:

The presentation is focusing on Intelligent Control of Bionic Hand based on surface Electromyography sEMG sensors to predict hand movements. The first part of the presentation will be a brief demonstration on 3D printed bionic hand controlled by Arduino Microcontroller. The complete control system architecture will be reviewed, covering ongoing and proposed developments along with their challenges. The second part will be about introducing optimization based on genetic algorithm (GA) to enhance pattern recognition performance. The last part will be about the implementation of machine learning and deep learning matlab toolboxes as additional pattern recognition methods into the open-source BioPatRec Matlab application.
