Job Description

The Department of Control & Instrumentation Engineering at the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) invites applications for faculty positions in all ranks (assistant professor, associate professor, and full professor). The department is particularly interested in candidates with outstanding academic qualifications and/or industrial experience in the areas of:

• Process Modeling and Control
  • Dynamic Simulation
  • Precision Instrumentation and Control Electronics
• Novel Sensors and Networks, IoT
• Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronics Systems
• Linear and Rotary Actuators: Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Magnetic
• Robotics and Autonomous Systems
• Linear and Non-Linear Control
• Digital Control
• Robust Control
• Intelligent and Adaptive Control
• Model Predictive Control and Advanced Control Theory
• Networked Control Systems
• Automation and Control, PLC, SCADA, DCS
• Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in Control Systems

Job Responsibility

The candidates are expected to:

• Demonstrate teaching experience in the above-mentioned areas
• Have a strong research potential demonstrated by relevant publications in top reputed journals
• Possess excellent communication skills

Successful candidates are expected to:

• Engage in high-quality teaching and fulfill the teaching requirements of the department
• Teach courses (and labs) at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Develop new courses (and labs) at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Implement new developments in the academic discipline, make influential achievements in relevant fields, enhance his own international academic influence, and be an internationally active academic member
• Establish and maintain active research programs that lead to peer-reviewed publications in high-impact professional journals
• Provide service to the Department, the University, and the profession
• Be involved in thematic research within one or more of the university research priority areas

Qualifications

Applicant must have:

• An earned Ph.D. degree from a reputable university in the relevant field.
• A full-time bachelor’s and master’s degrees with very good grades.
• Certificate equivalency if the certificate is obtained from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
