Abstract:
This paper presents a comprehensive study on the application of adaptive control strategies for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, specifically focusing on the integration of Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) with Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC). Traditional MPPT methods like Perturb and Observe (P&O) often face challenges such as steady-state oscillations and slow response times under rapidly changing environmental conditions. Our proposed approach leverages the adaptive capabilities of ANFIS to enhance the stability and efficiency of the MRAC system. Through detailed simulations, we demonstrate that the ANFIS-enhanced MRAC controller outperforms the traditional MRAC with P&O controller in terms of power output stability and response time, especially under fluctuating irradiance and temperature levels. The results show significant improvements in minimizing power oscillations and achieving rapid stabilization, thereby optimizing the overall performance of the PV system. This research underscores the potential of integrating intelligent control techniques in advancing renewable energy technologies, ensuring higher efficiency and sustainability in solar power generation.
