Application open for MS and PhD Programs in Systems and Control Engineering
  • Online

  • Nov. 1, 2026 - Dec. 15, 2026

Admission to the MS and PhD programs in Systems and Control Engineering is principally by faculty referral. An applicant should identify a faculty member whose research matches his or her background and interest, and approach that member before applying. The faculty member interviews the candidate and, if willing to supervise, submits a referral to the Graduate Admission Committee. The committee then holds a short interview covering English, communication and general fundamentals. An application that arrives without a referral is still considered. It is circulated once to the research area matching the candidate’s background or stated preference, and a faculty member of that area may take it up. Research focus areas: Robotics (industrial, marine, aerial, ground, medical); Process Control and Instrumentation; Energy Systems and Control; Mechatronics Systems; Control Theory. Eligibility for Cycle 271: a normalised GPA of 3.5 on a 4.00 scale, and the English requirement of the College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies. Application window for Cycle 271: 1 November – 15 December 2026.

Contact a CIE faculty member and get the referral from him.
